If you’ve been keeping up with Shia LaBeouf’s antics these past few years, then you probably memorized all the lyrics to “Actual Cannibal Shia LaBeouf” and sat on your couch for hours watching him watch his own movies last fall. I did, and I’m not even ashamed of how many “JUST DO IT” remixes I’ve seen.
“What is it now?” you groan.
Well I’ll tell you.
Right now Mr. LaBeouf is working on a project called #TAKEMEANYWHERE, in which he posts his coordinates online and asks for someone to pick him up and take him literally anywhere. Today he was in Wisconsin. Who knows where he’ll be tomorrow?
I wonder what the results #TAKEMEANYWHERE will give us? Or is this all there will be to the project – just Shia LaBeouf and some pals hitchhiking across the United States? The project itself is “commissioned by Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art as part of MediaLive 2016, and the Finnish Institute in London.” That explains a lot. Contemporary art is so great.
As I type this (on June 13th), the website – takemeanywhere.vice.com – shows that they’re In Transit somewhere up North on I-90, heading East, as pictured in my handy-dandy screenshot:
The project began on May 23rd and is expected to last until June 23rd. Keep your eyes peeled! He and his companions have been documenting all the people they’ve met and the places they’ve seen.
This man is an inspiration. (Am I being sarcastic? Even I don’t know anymore.)
Where would YOU take Shia LaBeouf? Let us know @theMoshery!
