Q: What’s Hotter Than Chris Hemsworth?
A: Chris Hemsworth Making You Laugh.
But come on, did you really need a reason to go see Ghostbusters?
The female-driven re-make of the 1984 cult classic has finally hit theaters, and in spite of what critics would have you think, the film rocks. I went to go see it this past weekend with my boyfriend, and I’ll be the first to recommend watching it if you’re in the mood to laugh.

The film stars one of the best possible casts for comedy – with stand-out comediennes like Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Thomas – and it also features the unbelievably sexy Chris Hemsworth in his comedic debut. Just when you thought he was too hot to laugh at, he proves you wrong, lending some serious eye-candy for chicks to the film that is not often seen in comedy. All too often we see guys getting to enjoy the hot girl in goofy Hollywood comedies, but this time, the treat’s for us! Woo-hoo!
In addition to being a major fan of Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig, I discovered a newfound appreciation for Kate McKinnon, who totally stole the film. The moment her character appeared on-screen, I inexplicably started laughing – and my boyfriend later informed me that I had had the very same reaction watching her once on SNL.
Now, to be fair, you should know: I laugh a lot and at just about everything. One of my favorite movies of all time is She’s The Man, and laughing is basically my favorite past-time. But when it comes to a truly special brand of funny, I feel compelled to share, and the only other actor known to have this affect on me is Jack Black in the movie Tropic Thunder. I can’t quite put my finger on what is so uniquely funny, but I think it has to do with the way they truly embody the character, putting all their weird little quirks out on full display.
And for all you Ghostbusters original-loyalists, just so you know, the film got the original Ghostbusters’ stamp of approval. Dan Aykroyd is an executive producer of the film, and even makes a cameo when you’d least expect it. Bill Murray also turned up to make an appearance in the film.
